July 12-17

Barrio Writers’ Summer Workshop: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. via Webex. One-week college-level creative writing workshop for teens ages 13-18. The workshop will conclude with an online reading on July 17, which will be recorded for participants to share. To register: pflugervilletx.gov.

July 12

July Summer Family Craft Night: Families with children ages 5 and up who have signed up to receive a packet of supplies to complete four craft projects in June choose the night that best suits them and spend the evening at the inside to work on a different project every week. The craft scheduled for July 12 is Tulips 3D. For information: pflugervilletx.gov.

July 13

Reading buddies with Ms. Carmen: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Webex via the Pflugerville Public Library. Families with children up to age 7 sign up for a 10-minute time slot to share a book with Children’s Services Coordinator Carmen Lazo. Children can listen to Ms. Carmen while she reads a book to them, or they can read a book to her. Registration is required at pflugervilletx.gov

Pfarmers Market: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pflugerville First United Methodist Church, 500 E. Pecan St., Pflugerville. The market offers various products including tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, squash, okra, garlic, melons, peaches and grapes, as well as artisan baked goods, honey, plants, eggs, free-range meats, salsas, pickles and jams. Conversational ESL: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via WebEx. This is an informal group for those who want to practice and improve their English skills. For information: pflugervilletx.gov.

DiversiTeen Book Buzz: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. via Webex from the Pflugerville Public Library. The first 20 teens who register and join the live event will receive a box of U Get What U Get books, filled with free books and library items. The event is aimed at teenagers aged 13 to 18 with a Pflugerville library card. To register: pflugervilletx.gov.

Pflugerville Town Council Meeting: 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm in Council Chambers, 100 Main Street E, Suite 500. Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Working sessions, when they take place, begin at 6 p.m. For more information: pflugervilletx.gov.

July 14th

Tween Scene Online: Paint Your Own Ceramic Owl: Tweens ages 8-12 can sign up for these weekly activities and activities from the Pflugerville Public Library. For information: pflugervilletx.gov.

Storytime Online with Ms. Amanda: 10:30 a.m. on YouTube via the Pflugerville Public Library. families with children up to 5 years old can register for access to weekly storytime videos broadcast on Wednesdays. Families can also purchase a June Story Time Craft Kit to make after watching the story time videos or to complete at their own pace. Manga in Minutes with Mr. Pitts: 11 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. via Instagram from the Pflugerville Public Library. Hands-on manga-style drawing lessons from designer David Pitts. For information: pflugervilletx.gov.

July 15th

Science of Spin: Atelier Yo-Yo: virtually on demand. Those who register will receive a free yo-yo. To register: pflugervilletx.gov.

Overdrive Libby App Virtual Training: 10 am-11:30am Experts will learn how to use the Overdrive Libby App to check and play eBooks and eBook Audiobooks on a personal device. To register: pflugervilletx.gov.

Baby Time online with Ms. Melissa: 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. online. Families up to 18 months old can join us for stories, music, nursery rhymes, finger games and movement. July 21

Writing Short Stories Part 4: 6.30 p.m. on Webex via the Pflugerville Public Library. Author Tracey Lander-Garrett will lead a four-part short story writing series that will focus on various genres.
